Online Giving

There are 3 books that the Church must use: The Good Book (Bible), The Hymn Book (Praise and worship), Pocket Book (Resources our money)

The Apostle Paul gave instruction on giving with these words:
2 Corinthians 9:7 “Let each one do just as he has purposed in his heart; not grudgingly or under compulsion; for God loves a cheerful giver".

Principal of Motive: Let each one do just as he has purposed in his heart; Paul had instructed the believers at Corinth that they were to plan in their giving to the Lord.
1 Corinthians 16:1-2

Our Attitude Does Matter In Giving: not grudgingly or under compulsion; for God loves a cheerful giver.

  • Grudgingly – (Sad Givers) “sorrow, pain, grief, annoyance, affliction of persons mourning”
  • Or under compulsion; (Mad Givers) “to be imposed either by the circumstances, or by law of duty”
  • For God loves a cheerful giver. Literally - “Hilarious, Joyous”

Notice what God loves, Pleased with a joyous giver. Not a giver in pain, or duty, but one that is rejoicing and excited that they have God’s resources to give!
Proverbs 22:9 “He who is generous will be blessed, for he gives some of his food to the poor.”
